East Lancashire Hospice Corporate Challenge

We’re Supporting East Lancashire Hospice Corporate Challenge 2026

We’re really pleased to share that Canterbury Fireplaces is taking part in the East Lancashire Hospice Corporate Challenge 2026.

This is a brilliant local initiative that brings businesses together from across Lancashire, all with the same goal. Each business starts with £50 and has six months to raise as much as possible for the hospice. It’s a simple idea, but one that can have a real impact across our community.

As a Blackburn-based business, getting involved felt like a natural step for us.

What Is the East Lancashire Hospice Corporate Challenge?

The Corporate Challenge is designed to bring local businesses together in a bit of friendly competition, all while raising vital funds for East Lancashire Hospice.

Each business is given £50 as a starting point and challenged to grow that amount over a six-month period through fundraising, events, and community support.

It encourages creativity, teamwork and community spirit, with businesses coming up with their own ideas to raise money. More importantly, it highlights just how powerful local support can be when people come together.

Supporting a Local Charity in Blackburn

East Lancashire Hospice plays a huge role in supporting people across Blackburn, Darwen, Hyndburn and the Ribble Valley.

It provides care and support to patients with life-limiting illnesses, as well as offering help and guidance to their families during incredibly difficult times.

For many people in our area, the hospice is something they will have experienced in some way, whether directly or through friends and family. It’s a charity that is deeply rooted in the local community.

To continue providing that level of care, the hospice needs to raise over £4.5 million every year. With only around a third of that funding coming from the government, the rest relies on donations, fundraising and community support.

That’s why initiatives like the Corporate Challenge are so important.

Why We’re Taking Part

At Canterbury Fireplaces, we’ve always been a local business that values the community around us. Being based in Blackburn, we know just how important organisations like East Lancashire Hospice are.

Taking part in the Corporate Challenge gives us the opportunity to do our bit and support something that has such a meaningful impact locally.

It’s also a great way to get involved alongside other businesses in the area, all working towards the same goal. There’s a real sense of community behind it, which is something we’re proud to be part of.

What’s Next for Our Fundraising

We’ll be supporting the hospice throughout the year, with the Corporate Challenge acting as the starting point for our fundraising efforts.

We’ve already got a number of ideas in the works and are looking forward to getting started over the coming months.

We’ll be sharing more very soon, so keep an eye out for our fundraising efforts.

Local Businesses Coming Together

One of the best parts of the Corporate Challenge is seeing how many local businesses get involved.

From independent shops to larger companies, everyone brings something different to the table. It creates a real sense of collaboration and community, with businesses supporting each other as well as the hospice.

In a time where supporting local is more important than ever, initiatives like this show what can be achieved when businesses come together for a shared cause.

How You Can Support East Lancashire Hospice

There will be plenty of opportunities to support our fundraising efforts over the coming months.

Whether it’s attending an event, entering a raffle, or simply sharing what we’re doing, every bit of support helps.

Even small contributions can make a big difference when it comes to helping the hospice continue its work.

By supporting fundraising efforts like this, you’re helping ensure that East Lancashire Hospice can continue to provide care, dignity and support to those who need it most.
